What is Plan Assist?
Plan Assist is a resource generation AI tool within Kerboodle that works with you to create custom teaching and planning materials using trusted OUP content. It simplifies the planning process, saving time while delivering results tailored to you and your students.
The tool is made up of a suite of generators designed to help you create bespoke resources to use in the classroom, including Worksheets, Flash Cards, Lesson Plans, and more.
You can access Plan Assist from within Kerboodle via your Course page and on some courses via the Resources and Assessment tabs.
Top tips
- Get the most accurate and useful results first time by inputting as much relevant information as possible when prompting generators.
- Add up to three cartridges (content from your OUP book) when completing a prompt. This helps ensure the generated resources align with your course content.
- If needed, you can amend your result by using the Regenerate or Refine option, this will use one additional credit. The more information you include in your prompt the less likely you will need to regenerate or refine.
- Always review your results. Export into an editable format to check the accuracy and rewrite or reformat depending on your needs.
- Results typically take between 10-30 seconds to generate. Some more complex queries may take up to 60 seconds.
Glossary
| Generators | You have access to generators within Plan Assist. Each generator is built to create specific teaching and learning resources that can be customised to your needs. |
| Cartridges | Cartridges contain content from the OUP books included in your Kerboodle course and typically cover a particular unit or topic of study. You can select up to three cartridges at one time when completing the generator prompt. |
| Credits | Plan Assist uses AI Tool credits. Each user has 50 credits per four-week period. Each time you Generate, Regenerate, or Refine, a credit is used. Your credit allowance will automatically refresh at the next release period. |
| Generate | Generate a result from the information you have entered. |
| Regenerate | Use Regenerate if the result is not satisfactory. You can amend the entered information and create a new result. |
| Refine | Use Refine if the result was somewhat satisfactory and only small changes are needed; you can Refine the result in the text box. |
Using Plan Assist on a mobile device?
If Plan Assist isn’t opening on your mobile, please make sure Cross‑Site Tracking is enabled in your device’s settings. After updating the setting, try launching Plan Assist again.
