Summer update – June 2020

We’ve updated some of the content in your subscription, in response to teacher feedback. We’ve made the following changes to the assessment tab:

  • Practice questions have been reviewed and the vast majority have been updated in order to reflect more closely the latest AQA exam question format and wording.

  • Practice questions have been reviewed and the vast majority have been updated in order to reflect more closely the latest AQA exam question format and wording. Answers can be found in the updated Teacher Handbook.
  • Some facts and statistics have been updated
  • A ‘Tip’ feature has been added to provide additional support for Practice questions
  • Maps, graphs and charts are now colour-blind compliant wherever possible.

Your AQA Geography A Level & AS Kerboodle has now been updated with:

New skills-pod animations, which include a short animation based on key geographical skills, with multiple-choice questions to test understanding. Topics now covered include the following:

  • Chi-squared: Why measuring distributions is useful, how to calculate a chi-squared value, and how to test a chi-squared value for significance
  • Logarithmic scales: why logarithmic scales are useful, how to interpret logarithmic graphs, and the limitations of logarithmic graphs
  • Sampling: Why sampling is useful, and the key features, advantages and disadvantages of three types of sampling: random, systematic, and stratified
  • GIS: what GIS is, what GIS is used for, and how GIS can be used in an independent investigation
  • Skills-pod data-response questions. Each skills-pod is supported with a data-response question which applies students’ geographical skills to a related topic in the student book.
